Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 14, 2026

ClanForge ("the app", "we", "us") is a clan management tool for Clash of Clans. This policy explains what data the app collects, how it is used, who it is shared with, and your rights as a user — including additional rights if you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), UK, or Switzerland.

1. Information We Collect

ClanForge collects only the data necessary to provide its features:

  • Player Tag & Role — you enter your Clash of Clans player tag during setup. Your clan and in-game role (member, elder, co-leader, leader) are detected automatically from the public Clash of Clans API.
  • Anonymous Account ID — on first launch, ClanForge creates an anonymous account with our backend provider (Supabase) so your settings, subscription status, and shared clan data can sync. This ID is a random identifier and is not linked to your name or email unless you choose to add one.
  • Clan & Member Data — clan name, member names, player tags, trophies, donations, war stats, and similar data from the public Clash of Clans API. This is cached on your device and, for clans using ClanForge's tracking features, also stored on our servers so history, leaderboards, and multi-device sync work correctly.
  • Leadership Records — if you are a leader or co-leader, data you or other leaders enter (war attack assignments, CWL bonus awards, manual historical stats, player notes, join dates, departure reasons) is stored on our servers so it is visible to other verified leaders of the same clan.
  • Push Notification Token — if you enable notifications, an Expo push token tied to your player tag and device is stored so we can deliver war-start and donation-milestone alerts.
  • Subscription Status — if you purchase ClanForge Pro, we store your plan type and subscription status (active/cancelled, monthly/yearly/lifetime). We do not store your card or PayPal account details — PayPal handles payment directly.
  • AI Tool Data (Pro, opt-in only) — if you use an AI-powered feature (Leader's Digest, Description Rewriter, Announcements), the clan/member/war data relevant to that tool, plus any text you type, is sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, to generate a result. This only happens when you actively use an AI tool, and only after you accept the in-app AI disclosure (revocable any time in About → AI Data Consent).

2. Information We Do Not Collect

  • We do not collect your name, email address, or real-world identity unless you voluntarily link an email to your account.
  • We do not collect device advertising identifiers or location data.
  • We do not use third-party analytics or crash-reporting SDKs.
  • We do not store payment card numbers or PayPal credentials — these are handled entirely by PayPal.
  • ClanForge no longer asks you for a Clash of Clans API key. All Clash of Clans API access is performed server-side using ClanForge's own credentials.

3. How Your Data Is Stored

Data lives in two places:

  • On your device — clan/member data, snapshots, and preferences are cached locally using SQLite. If you uninstall the app, this local data is permanently deleted.
  • On our servers — account, subscription, push token, and shared-clan data (described in Section 1) is stored in a database operated by our backend provider, Supabase. This data persists across devices and reinstalls and is retained as described in Section 7.

4. Third-Party Services

ClanForge shares limited data with the following service providers, each acting as a data processor on our behalf:

  • Supabase — hosts our database, authentication, and server-side functions. Stores the account and clan data described above.
  • Clash of Clans API (via RoyaleAPI proxy) — used server-side to fetch public clan and player data. No personal data of yours is sent here beyond your player/clan tag.
  • Supercell CDN — clan badge and game-asset images are loaded directly from Supercell's content delivery network.
  • Anthropic — powers ClanForge's optional, opt-in AI features (Pro only). Receives only the data described in Section 1's AI Tool Data entry, and only when you actively trigger an AI tool.
  • PayPal — processes ClanForge Pro subscription payments. We receive only your subscription status, not your payment details.
  • Expo — delivers push notifications using the token described in Section 1. Expo receives the notification content (e.g. "Your clan's war has started") and the device token.

ClanForge does not sell your data, and does not use advertising networks or data brokers.

5. Children's Privacy

ClanForge is intended for users aged 13 and older, consistent with the age requirements of Clash of Clans. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has used the app, please contact us using the details in Section 9 so we can take appropriate action.

6. Your Rights

You can manage most of your data directly:

  • Clear locally cached data via Settings, or uninstall the app to remove all on-device data.
  • Revoke AI data-sharing consent at any time via About → AI Data Consent. This immediately stops any future AI tool from sending your clan data to Anthropic until you re-accept.
  • Cancel a Pro subscription at any time through your PayPal account.

If you are located in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you additionally have the right under GDPR/UK GDPR to:

  • Request access to, correction of, or a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
  • Request deletion of your account and associated server-side data;
  • Object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent (e.g. for AI features) at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal;
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 9. Our legal basis for processing is your consent (for AI features), and our legitimate interest in operating ClanForge's core functionality (for account, subscription, and shared-clan data needed to provide the service you signed up for).

Because Supabase, Anthropic, PayPal, and Expo may process data outside your country of residence, your data may be transferred internationally as part of providing the service. These providers maintain their own safeguards for cross-border data transfers.

7. Data Retention

Server-side clan history ("snapshots") is retained indefinitely for Pro users. For free-tier users, full-resolution snapshots older than 30 days are progressively compressed and downsampled to reduce storage — they are not deleted, but older data becomes less granular. Account, subscription, and shared-clan records are retained while your account is active and deleted upon a verified deletion request.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy as the app adds new features. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
